Lisa completed her undergraduate education on an athletic scholarship at Oregon State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sport Science. While swimming for OSU, Lisa specialized in the sprint freestyle and butterfly events. She was an All Pac-10 qualifier and after her collegiate career was the National Master’s Champion in the 5o Meter Freestyle.
After receiving her undergraduate degree, Lisa then went on to attend Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California where she received her Masters in Physical Therapy. Lisa’s professional focus has been orthopedic physical therapy, surgical and non-surgical spine and extremity rehabilitation. Her specializations include swimming and dance rehabilitation. Lisa’s treatment approach lies within her belief that education is the key to success and perfect practice makes perfect. Lisa has taken coursework in yoga and is also a certified Pilates instructor, which has allowed her to apply a movement based approach with all of her patients.
Regarding dance, she attended coursework in dance medicine at Harkness Center for Dance Injuries in New York City and has been on staff with the Pacific Northwest Ballet since 2001 where she provides physical therapy to both professional and student level dancers.
Lisa is still involved in the local swimming community. She is the active Head Coach for the Bellevue High School Girls Swim Team and swims with the Bellevue Club Masters Program. In her free time she enjoys the local food and wine scene, world travel, and volunteering for local charities including Camp Korey and JDRF.
